Discovering Deaf Worlds partners with Deaf advocates in developing countries to provide consultation and organizational development. The organization's goal is to improve the standards of education, communication accessibility, employment opportunities and human rights for Deaf people in developing countries.
Discovering Deaf Worlds contacted me back in September, 2011 to help them redesign their website and build a dynamic web presence. Over the past six years, I have worked closely with the organization's Executive Director and Program Director / Co-Founder to promote and build their organization. My work included consultation, web design, development, video translation, graphic design, SEO, social media.
I helped the organization grow it's global reach and increase website traffic. I helped the team make the site interactive with use of ASL videos accompanying page content. We incorporated blogs, vlogs and engaging videos. I also helped them secure federal grants from the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) by creating portals designed to empower Filipino and American participants to communicate through blogs, vlogs, and message boards to gain an increased understanding of Deaf education, policy, advocacy, culture, organizational development, and community outreach.
